How Did Valentine's Day Originate?

Have you ever wondered how the holiday “Valentines Day” originated? The holiday got its name from a saint named Valentine. Many believe he was a priest from Rome. At the time, the Emperor Claudius II had banned marriage because he thought married men were bad soldiers. St. Valentine didn’t think this was fair so he secretly arranged weddings. When Claudius found out, he threw Valentine in jail and was sentenced to death. While in jail, he fell in love with the jailer's daughter.
